Tasting SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival

The SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival 2019 takes place Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and Memorial Day from April 19th through May 27th.

The SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival is a fun way to try out food and drinks from different cultures as well as enjoy entertainment from different cultures. You can purchase sampling lanyards, but they are not required to enjoy the food and drinks the Seven Seas Food Festival has to offer. Though, they do offer a great bang for your buck.

Each lanyard offers 10 to 15 samples. The great thing is you don’t have to use all of the samples in one day. The lanyard is good for the duration of the Seven Seas Food Festival. The lanyards make it easy to try out samples without having to pay each time. However, you will have to show your ID if you plan to drink adult beverages. *Drink responsibly.

You can go specifically for the Seven Seas Food Festival and/or you can walk around enjoy what SeaWorld has to offer. Admission into the Seven Seas Food Festival does require you to purchase a ticket to get into SeaWorld.

The food and drinks are beyond delicious. I was able to try foods and drinks I had never tried before such as spam fries with red chile-garlic dipping sauce, baklava (I am now addicted), Santorini Sunrise, Jamaica Me Crazy, Crepes, Sticky Ribs, and tons of different wines. Use the event guide to help you plan out what yummy food and drinks you want to try beforehand. Have fun tasting and drinking all of the delicious food.

Tasting San Antonio donuts: The Art of Donut

I am a sucker for cute donuts and it’s a plus when the donuts taste as good as they look.

My favorite flavor was the pistachio flavor, but each one was delicious. The donuts are fluffy and the flavors are so much fun. I’ve been going to The Art of Donut before they had a storefront. I would make trips to La Cantera’s Farmers Market for the fluffy goodness.

Saturday was the first time I tried their coffee and omg I was not disappointed. The caramel latte and Mexican coffee were heaven and gave me life. Not to mention the donuts are instagram-worthy. While you are there take a picture by the donut kill my vibes wall.

If you are lucky you can catch The Art of Donut at an event and take a picture with their Donut wall.

*Both donut wall pictures were taken at San Antonio Cocktail Conference events.

The Art of Donut is located near the Zoo and The Japanese Tea Garden. Enjoy a donut or two or a dozen. I’m not the one to judge. Donuts are life.

Tasting San Antonio: Grimaldi’s Pizzeria

This past Thursday, Grimaldi’s hosted the San Antonio Blogger Babes Galentine’s dinner and the food and service was amazing. I absolutely love Grimaldi’s. I eat there quite often. We got started off with a bruschetta trio and some cocktails.

I ordered a Prosecco and a Long Island Limoncello Martini. I typically drink beer with my pizza, but it was a Galentine’s dinner, so I thought I’d try something different.

I was able to try several toppings I had never tried before. I even tried a gluten free option and each pizza was as flavorful as the last. Not, every pizza we tried is pictured. I absolutely loved the pesto pizza (not pictured) which I have never tried before because the people I eat at Grimaldi’s with don’t like pesto.

We ended off the night trying each dessert (I was in heaven). My favorite was everything. They were all delicious.

We have a little bit of New York in our backyard here in San Antonio thanks to Grimaldi’s. Thanks again Grimaldi’s for hosting our event. I absolutely love your food and I will see y’all on my birthday.

Grimaldi’s is based out of Brooklyn, but they have three locations in San Antonio and several around the U.S.

P.S. Sign up for their newsletter and receive their specials in your email and a free 16” pizza on your birthday. You know where you can find me on my birthday.

Tasting San Antonio Cocktail Conference

San Antonio Cocktail Conference starts tomorrow y’all. The San Antonio Cocktail Conference is a Houston Street Charity event. Each event is so unique and extravagant, and it is one of my favorite events of the year next to Fiesta.

I attended the past two years. I had so much fun, and learned so much about liquors, absinthe, and cocktails. The best part is trying out all of the gorgeous and tasty adult beverages, food, and dessert. Let me tell you there is food galore.

I went by myself the past couple of years, so don’t worry about going by yourself because it is a fun environment and you will make so many new friends.

You get more bang for your buck at The Tasting Suites. The event takes place on Saturday during the day which gives you plenty of time to recover from Waldorf on the Prairie. It also gives you plenty of time to rest before going to Cocktails in the Enchanted Forest.

But if you are wanting to dress up then Waldorf on the Prairie is the event for you. It is an extravagant event.

*There are so many selfie opportunities at each event.

Plan to bring a jacket because although you may be inside there will be a line before each event opens. I’m extremely punctual, so I got to each event really early so I was stuck in the cold for a while before the doors were opened.

Remember to drink responsibly. I’ll be at the Come & Taste It event and The Tasting Suites. Say hi if you see me. I love making new friends.

Tasting San Antonio Breweries

My first post was about pizza, so what goes great with pizza? If you were thinking beer, you my friend are correct. Lucky for you San Antonio has many local breweries.

One of my favorite places in the city is The Historic Pearl. The Historic Pearl houses Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery; the beer is always rotating which I absolutely love. I love getting beer by the flight so I can try as many of the seasonal beers as possible. Also, the food is to die for. You can grab your beer to go and walk around The Historic Pearl. The Historic Pearl hosts many events throughout the week such as live music, fitness events, and farmer’s market. Please check their website for more details.

Another brewery I love is Alamo Beer Company. I even took my pictures there when I turned 30 years old. Alamo Beer Company has so many fun events throughout the year like my personal favorite Ocktoberfest. Another event I enjoy in the summer is beer, bacon, and bingo because what’s not to like about all three of those things. There’s seating indoors and outdoors. Oh, and it’s dog friendly which is always a plus in my book.

Blue Star Brewing Company is located in beautiful Southtown. Southtown is literally a hop, skip, and a jump away from downtown. Southtown is where the locals like to hang out. The River Walk runs through Southtown. Okay, so back to the beer.

Blue Star Brewing Company offers a wide range of beer, and they even have an organic beer which is really quite refreshing. The food is delicious, and the staff will let you know what beer pairs well with what meal. They have Jazz performances on Tuesday nights from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Can’t decide beer or whiskey then head on over to Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling where you can get both. They have some unique flavors that you will love.

The beer on tap is always rotating at Mad Pecker Brewing Co., and it’s the perfect place to grab a cold craft beer and burger with fries. Order the Messy Pecker Fries if you want fries with a little extra extra.

Not only does Freetail Brewing Co. have some really good craft beer, but they have some really delicious pizza at their location off of 1604. Freetail Brewing Co. has two locations. The other Freetail Brewing Co. is located near Southtown off of Presa. Mobile Om and Inbalance offer yoga classes at the Presa location. Drinking beer while doing yoga is a must.

I may be a little biased when talking about Busted Sandal Brewing Company because they have a beer named after my husband’s friend’s band. The beer itself is delicious. It is called Finding Friday Mexican Lager. However, El Robusto Porter is the beer that made me fall in love with Busted Sandal Brewing Company. It taste like coffee which sounds gross, but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

Weathered Souls Brewing Co. is pet friendly. If you know me I take my dog everywhere that he is allowed, so I am always on the lookout for pet friendly locations. I’m a sucker for Mexican Lagers, so my favorite beer from Weathered Souls Brewing Co. is DãleShine.

Roadmap Brewing Co. is the newest brewery in San Antonio. Everyday they have different food trucks, so you get to sample different food each time you go. You can also partake in Geeks who Drink trivia or cornhole or both.

Order a flight if you are like me and want to sample a little bit of everything. If you are not able to drive to different locations, but want to try local beers then head to Yard House or Little Woodrow’s. Both Yard House and Little Woodrow’s have two locations here in San Antonio.

Please keep in mind each brewery serves craft beers, so they contain more alcohol than your typical beer. So if you plan to drink your fair share of beers please have a DD or order an Uber, Lyft, or taxi. Please drink responsibly.

Tasting San Antonio Workout Studios

Since it is the start of a New Year I felt it was appropriate to share my favorite places to work out in San Antonio.

Most of the places I workout at are pretty far from my house, so I work out at places based on a restaurant or coffee joint I am craving because balance.

So my absolute favorite place to workout at is Joyride. The instructors are so motivating, and it feels like you are at a club while working out. The lights are dim, so I don’t have to worry about people looking at all of the faces I make while working out. The faces I make when working out are not cute. The first class is free. Don’t forget to ask for a seat cushion. I learned the hard way, and I was sore for days. After a few cycling classes I no longer felt sore.

I love renting bikes downtown because it turns the downtown area/Southtown area into my personal gym. Bike riding is so much fun, but you have to return the bike every hour and re-check it out. However, there’s nothing like riding a bike to make you feel like a kid again.

One of my favorite type of workout is barre because it kicks my butt every time (in a good way of course). I really enjoy InBalance because they offer barre, yoga, Pilates, TRX, and piloxing. There are three locations in San Antonio, and the owners are so sweet and make classes so much fun. I definitely recommend it. They offer free community classes.

Check their website for times and locations because they are always adding locations. Smart Barre and Pure Barre are equally as fun.

Yes, that’s a mimosa.

*Athleta and Lululemon offer free workout classes. Check out their website or Instagram for more details.

I recommend MobileOm if you want to do yoga in cool places in San Antonio. They offer classes at locations such as the Hay Street Bridge which is one of my favorite places in San Antonio, partly because it is over Alamo Beer Company.

If you are a Pilates reformer type of person check out Club Pilates. The facility is super gorgeous, and the reformers help with flexibility. The introduction class is free.

May you find a workout you enjoy.

Tasting San Antonio Pizza

For those who don’t know my favorite food is pizza. I could eat pizza everyday. I even feed pizza flavored dog treats to my dog.

One of my favorite pizza places in San Antonio has to be Dough. They have two locations. One is off of 410 and Blanco; the other location is located in Hemisfair Park. Their pizza is legit Italian style. You get a beautiful view of the Tower of the Americas while enjoying delicious pizza.

Second on my list is Stella Public House. While waiting I like to enjoy the lamb meatballs with wild mushroom Mac and cheese. You can thank me later.

Next, on my list is Guillermo’s. Guillermo’s has something for every member in your family. Guillermo’s offers Italian food, sandwiches, burgers and tacos. It’s super close to downtown, so after you are done eating why not walk off your food while visiting the River Walk or The Alamo.

Want to enjoy live music with your pizza and pup? Then head on over to Fralo’s.

I first discovered Wine 101 when they started construction near 1604 and Guilbeau area. It would take me forever to get home, so I would stop and enjoy some wine and flatbread. The flatbread is oozing with so much flavor. I know it’s not exactly pizza, but it’s close enough and it’s so delicious. Wine 101 is located in Old Town Helotes which is beautiful and has wonderful retail shops.

Last, but not least at participating HEB locations you can get a 16” pizza with your choice of two beers or wines for $10 from 4-7 p.m. It is seriously a steal. The pizza is delicious, and it pairs well with Alamo Golden Ale.

There are so many other delicious pizza places in the city, but these are a few of my favorites.
